About Coldean Colts Football Club

Image:

Coldean Colts football Club was formed in Febuary 2007 by Phil & Anne Pilbeam

The club started with a group of just six boys. After a few weeks of training, Phil wasn't sure that they had done the right thing, trying to start a football club with so few boys and with no other boys seemingly interested in joining. It soon became apparent that he might have to fold the team before it even really got started. Then after a while, word got around at Coldean Primary School in Brighton where most of the boys attended that there was a new team in town, and it wasn't long before the new players that were desperately needed started to appear.

Now, two years on, we have over 60 boys signed on, not only from Coldean School, but from all over the Brighton and Hove area and that's firstly thanks to Phil & Anne for not folding the team in those difficult early stages, and secondly to those six boy's for sticking by there club, believing in there coach, and for putting the word around about there new team.

During those two years we have become an 'FA Charter Standard Football Club'.

The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme, supported by FA Community Partner McDonald's, was launched in February 2001 and is a core component of The FA Football Development programme.

The project is aimed at all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League, players, children and parents find a club in their local area that meets FA standards.

Training and Matchday Refreshment's

During training on Saturday's, and on a Sunday home matchday, we like to put on some refreshments for our supporter’s and player's, and for away team supporter's and player's too.

You can buy a bacon roll, egg and bacon roll, or a hotdog, and wash it down with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. This area is run by fully trained catering volunteers.

We also have a tuck shop, which is run by Anne Pilbeam selling sweets, crisps and cold drinks

The money raised from the refreshments tent and Anne's tuck shop goes towards the cost of running the club, so it’s a vital part of what we do.

A big thank you to Nikki, Maria & Debbie for all there hard work in the refreshment and tuck shop tent.
